You and the Gun
Don't be terrified at the floating that you see above in the trailer, it's actually your ghostly self holding it in game, I think. Well If you haven't been scared to death yet because of it still being summer and no Halloween, what we have here is a demo of sorts of a cover based shooter with Razer Hydra and Oculus Rift support.
Would you like to know more about how this kicked off? Read it here on the Oculus developer forums. If you plan of giving this tech demo a try just remember you need both the Razer Hydra and Oculus Rift. Also take the advice of developer TeddyOk, "you attach one Hydra wand to your chest and use the other Hydra joystick to walk forwards backwards. The camera is fully controlled by your head & body, so you literally have to turn around to walk the direction you want. [...] The chest Hydra also allows you to move around (e.g. duck down) and inspect the environment close up."
So if anyone does have an interest to try this, head on over here to download it. Oh, but before you do, take TeddyOk's advice before trying it:
"Please be careful when playing this demo, lots of people try to support themselves on the crates when they try to stand up or when leaning up against a column, but find there is nothing there!" So be careful kids, we want you back here to read the next article safe and sound! Ok? Good, now go have fun with this virtual demo.
