A few hours ago rumours were going around the internet that layoffs were coming at CCP's Atlanta office. It was reported that a number of staff that was working on the MMO World of Darkness, was being made unemployed, rather suddenly. The original rumour went around on Twitter, then later; an unconfirmed source revealed that Level Designers and various other Producers and Designers were the layoffs.

CCP Games later released an official statement confirming that the layoffs were real and that it was from The World of Darkness team. They said:

"CCP today made strategic adjustments to the staffing on the team working on the World of Darkness project in Atlanta that resulted in the elimination of approximately 15 positions at the company. The change was due to our evaluation of the game's design and ongoing development needs. While this was a difficult decision, CCP remains committed to the franchise and our promise to make a compelling, rich, and deep World of Darkness experience."

This news is quite sad, especially when you consider that these people have been made unemployed probably at the worst possible time, just before Christmas. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
