Wolves Walk Among Us Come October 11

After the astounding achievement that was The Walking Dead, Telltale Games finally established a solid foothold at the vanguard of the point & click genre. They proved that pont & click adventure games didn't need to be pixelhunts and clickfests, and they showed the rest how a solid story with an emotional core is supposed to be done in a videogame. Over five episodes, players were constantly bombarded with agonizing decisions that were never strictly right or wrong, and the consequences of thse choices were rarely clear from the outset. Our reviewers weren't afraid of praising Telltale for their achievement.

Though Telltale are by no means done with The Walking Dead, they have recently been focusing on something quite different. The Wolf Among Us is a gamification of DC Comic's Fables, a comic book series that deals with all kinds of fairy tale characters and creatures living together in (not so much) harmony. Anything from werewolves and vampires, to Ali Baba and a talking monkey.

The Wolf Among Us will likely narrow down its scope, and focus more on its protagonist Bigby Wolf and his story as a sort of peacekeeper between the fairy tale creatures and the non-fairies. Mundies, as they're called. Apart from that, we can expect the same satisfying choice/consequence-type gameplay that Telltale did so well in The Walking Dead.

The game recently popped up for pre-purchase on Steam, but no release date has been announced. Until now. Similar to The Walking Dead, Telltale's The Wolf Among Us will play out over a season of five episodes. The first episode, titled Faith, is to be released on October 11 - well in time for Halloween - with the rest to follow in the following months.
