Warhammer 40k Battlefleet Gothic First-Look Gameplay
Focus Interactive has released today a short snippet of Alpha gameplay along with describing some of the weapons in use by the Imperium of Man and the forces of Chaos.
The weapons we see are the usual fare in BFG, large bore cannons, lances, missiles and the height of Imperial technology, the Nova Cannon, along with a lot of smaller items such as probes, scramblers and boarding torpedoes.
The gameplay does seem to be very RTS style and pays homage very well to the tabletop game and adds new features such as levelling up commanders and special powers that can be done with certain parts of the ship. We get to see the damage states on vessels, the ability to micro-jump via the warp to repair, even the use of broadside cannons of the Imperium against Chaos.
Interestingly, we didn't get to see any Eldar or Dark Eldar ships, but right at the end we did get to see some Ork ships, looking particularly orky.
Battlefleet Gothic will be coming out on PC in 2016, enough time to pray to the God-emperor for protection against heretics.
