Voicing The Evil Within

Bethesda have released a new trailer for upcoming hellish horror jaunt, The Evil Within. The video features brief interviews with the actors lending their voices to the game's three leads. In the role of the game's player character, Sebastian Castellanos, is Anson Mount. Jennifer Carpenter voices the role of Sebastian's partner, Detective Juli Kidman, whilst Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley lends his voice to the game's main villain, Ruvik. In the clip, each actor talks about their experiences acting for a video game for the first time. It's short and sweet so check it out above.

For those not familiar with his work, Anson Mount has most recently played the live-action role of Cullen Bohannon in Hell on Wheels (and he's also had roles in Dollhouse, Law & Order, Smallville and CSI: Miami). Jennifer Carpenter is of course arguably most recognised for playing Debra Morgan in Dexter. Whilst this is her first time contributing her voice to a video game, this isn't her first time voice acting as she has also voiced Black Widow in Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher, which was released earlier this year. Our dear readers will likely recognise Jackie Earle Haley for his role as Rorschach in Watchmen and he was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in 2006's Little Children before that. Joining Mount, Carpenter and Haley is Yuri Lowenthal in the role of Joseph Oda. Lowenthal will be recognised by anime fans for his roles in Naruto, Bleach, Hellsing Ultimate and Afro Samurai. Our dear readers will also recognise him for his extensive voice work for various video games. Sadly Lowenthal does not appear for an interview in the clip above but it's great to see the calibre of voice talent attached to this title.
