Viking - Battle It Out For Asgard On PC
In 2008 the Creative Assembly, most commonly known for their Total War series, launched Viking: Battle for Asgard on console. Having only released one console game previously to this title, the game features the huge battles we are used to from Total War out of a third-person hack-and-slash perspective. Next week, after four years, it’s on Steam.
As the title suggests, the game doesn’t delve much into actual historical facts. Asgard being, something most people will know thanks to Thor – never say Hollywood can’t educated the masses at least to some degree – the spiritual realm of the Viking gods, you can’t really expect this game to take history serious. Instead you play a well-toned and when it comes to killing, brutally efficient Nordic warrior as he commands his armies against the vile Norse goddess Hel. Battling for Midgard, the three open-world islands on which the game plays, you will get to see lots of magic, blood and…well, dragons.
Hardlight studio, a team under the control of no other than Creative Assemblies favourite paragon, Sega has given the game a graphical update and, as far as the Creative Assembly is concerned: ‘It’s looking really pretty’.
Any console gamers out there? Tell us what you thought of this game and if you’ll pick it up again.

I remember wanting this years ago when I only had a console, but never got round to getting it and forgot all about it. I'm now tempted to play it :P
