War of the Roses was a pretty fun game back when it was released. Unfortunately, it got the short end of the stick when Chivalry: Medieval Warfare was released roughly around the same time, with an arguably much more responsive and satisfying combat system.

Since that time, Swedish developer Fatshark have been working on updating the game with new content, and more recently also a sequel titled War of the Vikings. It's been known for a while that the game is nearing completion, but it's not until today we know the game's release date.

A fresh press release from Paradox Interactive reveals that the game will exit Steam's Early Access and become a fully fledged game this vår. Oh, I'm sorry sorry. spring! This spring. April 15th, to be exact. So pack your beards and sharpen your axes! The Vikings are going to war! Unless you're one of those snobby Brits. In which case, hide your nutsacks and prepare for slaughter! Oh yeah, and if you can't wait that long, the game is still available in its incomplete form on Steam.
