Valve See the Bigger Picture

Valve's, designed for TV, Steam feature, "Big picture" mode is allegedly entering beta tomorrow (Monday Sept 10th). Big picture mode is designed to deliver, "simple, easy-to-read navigation designed specifically for TV. With full controller support, big-picture mode will let gamers kick back and enjoy their favourite games on the biggest screen in the house.", as described by Valve themselves.
"Steam's big-picture mode doesn't require any additional development from you...... Just ensure your game works well with a controller, and we'll take care of the rest. And don't worry, keyboard and mouse aren't going anywhere—users will be able to switch between input devices at any time."
Valve's Greg Coomer said, during one interview - "In early September you'll be able to hop into a beta, click a button, and see Steam reformatted for your TV and usable with a PC game controller, or a mouse and keyboard if you want to play that way".
Check back tomorrow for an update on this story.
