Valve appears to be opening an office in Frisco. Pretty straight forward really. Or is it? One thing we are sure of is that they recently purchased, for all intents and purposes, the two man studio Star Filled. For those who don't know, they were founded (and are in entirety) ex-PopCap and Blizzard employees, Jeff Gates and Tod Semple respectively.

And they're based in San Francisco.

However, after much early speculation, and some teasing by Mister Semple's Linkdin profile Doug Lombardi, of Valve, had this to say. "As a point of clarification, this is probably better categorized as Valve hiring two new employees instead of an acquisition of a company or opening of a Valve SF office."

What, ultimately, this means precisely is still a little unclear. Are Valve going to keep Star Filled as they are and act simply as a publisher? Perhaps relocate them to an existing office? Open a new office despite what Lombardi said? It's all rather cloak and dagger if you ask me. And not what is usually expected from Gaben. Then again...he has been teasing us for close on a decade now. So who knows?
