Valve Developing a VR Port of TF2

Valve have spoken before about their interest in so called 'wearable computing', so it comes as no small surprise that they have been working on porting a certain game of theirs to work with Virtual Reality and Wearable Computing technology. That game is Team Fortress 2.
As Valve will be giving talks at the Game Developers Conference in March, one session they will be holding is entitled 'What We Learned Porting Team Fortress 2 to Virtual Reality'. Using my keen analytical skills and ability to process words on a screen, I'm guessing this mean they have been trying to port Team Fortress 2 to Virtual Reality. Something which sounds, deceptively futuristic. The session description reads as follows:
"Several people at Valve spent the past year exploring various forms of wearable computing. The wearable effort included porting Team Fortress 2 to run in virtual reality goggles. This session will describe lessons learned from Valve's porting experience. Topics covered include an overview of what stereo support entails, rendering 2D user interface in a 90 degree field of view display, dealing with view models and other rendering shortcuts, and how mouselook can interact with head tracking in a first person shooter."
This sounds really cool and I for one am glad that someone out there is attempting to bring success to Virtual Reality video games. Maybe at some point in the distant future we'll be seeing Team Fortress 2 commercially available in Virtual Reality, maybe not. Either way it all sounds very exciting, I'm sure the talks at GDC will be made available afterwards, so we can all learn exactly what Valve have to say.
