Unreal Engine Getting More Real?
In a new Inside Unreal, two Epic Staff, Tim Elek and Zak Parrish, talk us through the inner workings of the Unreal Engine 4. The video focuses on particle and water effects in their Infiltrator tech demo and how they can be implemented by developers using the new engine.
The engine is being used for upcoming games like Fable Legends, a new Space Hulk game called Deathwing, and Square Enix's next generation titles, so expect some sparkly graphics. Hopefully this time around not everything made with Unreal Engine 4 is going to look like Gears of War, or suffer from some major pop-in texture issues that were so obvious in Unreal Engine 3 games.

I really like how they have managed to have particles pass through the holes in a material without creating additional geometry.
