Game companies have some strange ideas when it comes to marketing their games. While there certainly have been other strange promotions (see: Dead Island: Riptide's disembodied female torso), I can say that Ubisoft sending someone to the Himalayas to play Far Cry 4 has got to be one of the strangest.

The contest itself is only open to residents of the United States and the District of Colombia, people who are 21 years or older, and those who are deemed to be in "very good physical condition." I suspect that anyone who wishes to hike in the Himalayas wouldn't like to do so with with the requirement of playing Far Cry 4 along the way. Having been to Tibet myself, the immense physical requirement of simply hiking at such an altitude (roughly 3500m above sea level) every day for 14 days, while not to mention carrying a pack along the way would likely mean that you would simply be too exhausted to accomplish the feat. I could imagine Ubisoft sending people out to explore the Himalayas normally, but this seems...a bit too far out there.
