Some very surprising news has come out from Creative Assembly. Just posted today on their official website is the announcement of Total War: Arena. Yes, that is the same franchise as Rome, Shogun, etc. Total War. The title will be a F2P game and will mix RTS and MOBA gameplay.

Beyond that, not much has been revealed. As I keep stressing though and cannot do that enough, MOBA games is a completely new and fresh genre and within 10 years what gamers will think of when someone says MOBA could be completely different from what we think a MOBA game is today. Smite already took some big steps in a different direction for the genre and a MOBA game from the very same developers that brought us the Total War franchise? That sure holds a lot of promise to revolutionise or at the very least change the genre up!
