Torment Release Pushed Back Due Too Much Money

With 37 hours left in the Kickstarter for Torment: Tides of Numenera, the developers have released an update, giving a bit more info on what they’re hoping for in the last days of their Kickstarter. They’re still hoping to achieve $4 Million or more (which means they need about $400,000), which will add some new aspects to the game via Torment’s newly announced stretch goals - including more companion quests, new game areas, an expanded morality system and a larger soundtrack. Torment will also take a bit more time to complete than originally thought. The devs explain that they had planned Torment to be modular, so extra content could easily be added as funding increased, but since the funds they have received exceed their expectations, they will need a few more months to create the game that their 65,000 backers (and anyone who buys the game later) deserve. More details about the development schedule will come to light as they sort through everything in the wake of receiving their funding.
There’s still time to contribute to Torment’s stretch goals if you haven’t already, which you can do here, and as always, you can comment on this turn of events in the comments below.
