After going live just under a week ago, City of Titans, the Kickstarter for fan-made successor to City of Heroes has hit its initial funding target. Missing Worlds Media wanted to raise $320,000, but surpassed that with 26 days still remaining. The total raised so far is over $360,000. However, stretch goals have not been set yet.

Missing Worlds Media did say that any amount over the target would be used to finance middleware or licence established systems from other developers. Though the rights have not been secured to City of Heroes, City of Titans will use similar mechanics and features with regards to character customisation. So it looks like the fans have taken over the city, and being fan-based, gamers will get what they want in the game.
