The Witcher's Story Continues
The Witcher 3's story has been revealed in bits and pieces, primarily through trailers and game demos, which have so far, involved Geralt hunting griffons, marauding through city streets, meeting the local wildlife, and engaging in heated discussions with NPCs. The latest footage, a developer-commentated demo that came out of Gamescom running on the Xbone, showcases the continuation of the footage shown off at this year's E3, with the griffon hunting revealed as trade for information in the largest city in the game's world. Following that, Geralt heads off on a series of quests, all the while with a developer explaining some of the mechanics and machinations of the game world.
While not too much new information has arisen because of the video, there are some more world-building elements that come with it. For starters, the continent is large, dotted with detailed towns and villages, all with their own quest progression that may or may not be available due to your actions elsewhere in the world or town itself. While a dialogue tree is nothing new to RPGs, it would be interesting to see just how different the information you receive is if, say, you withheld a little more information about your quarry, or dispersed a bit more. In any case, CD Projekt Red looks set to continue their drip-feed of information about the game in the months leading up to The Witcher 3's release.
