The Witcher 3 - No Friend Slaying

By Merc02-05-2013

No one I ever talked to about the Witcher series has ever stated that the only thing missing was a strong multiplayer component. Thank the gaming gods that The Witcher 3 will not have it either. Not that it would be a bad thing but man, the game already looks amazing as it is. It would also be unfortunate if the single player campaign suffered because some of the development team had to focus on the multiplayer portion of the game. It seems that CD Projekt Red is having the same thoughts because they have now confirmed that there will be no friend slaying. In an interview with Eurogamer Michal Platkow-Gilewski confirmed that multiplayer has no place in a "strongly story-driven game".

I cannot say that I am disappointed in the lack of a multiplayer in the Witcher 3 and I absolutely loved the last game. I wonder what they would have implemented for an mp mode in the Witcher 3 anyway? A cooperative campaign would have been a bad idea, so it would have been some kind of competitive mode, but I guess we will never know. Oh well, I still wish I could cryogenically freeze myself until this game is released because it looks amazing. What are your thoughts, are you disappointed with the lack of a multiplayer in The Witcher 3? Let us know in the comments.

And I regret there is no multi, or co-op at least. You guys remember the Arena mode from Witcher 2 EE? A little multi component like this and the game would earn some survivability. Plus, it could be a nice experiment aimed to check out the players' tastes. Well, maybe in Witcher 3 EE then... ^^

Yeah it may have been cool but I am still totally invested in the single player. I cannot wait to play this game.

Not disappointed per se. It would have been interesting to see what they did with it, so kinda' disappointed that we won't be able to see their ingenuity in that respect. But not so much that I'm going to bemoan the decision to leave it out. I think they made the right choice personally
