The Wasteland Has Never Looked So Good

"Fallout 3 is easily one of the best looking games EVER" - a phrase that will turn a few heads and insight a few giggles. Until now....

Screens of a highly modded Fallout 3 have surfaced showing off some of the best looking graphics ever seen. The ENB mod along with improved faces, gorgeous new lighting, hi res textures and a number of other tweaks have turned a game, that was hardly known for its beauty, into a different animal altogether.

Check out the screens and see for yourself. The wasteland has never looked so good....

Anthemios the person responsible for this prettiness in one of his comments said this about how he achieved the astonishing result:

"I posted my .115 config on the ENB forums in the New Vegas topic. It's somewhere on page 3 I think. As far as image enhancements, I've been using the 4096 rock and 2048 landscape textures made by this user: fallout3.nexusmods.com/users/309068

I also have something called Project Beauty installed which ostensibly improves the godawful faces in this game. I think I also downloaded a different male head mesh at some point, though I forget what it's called--it should be easy to find, it's the only one in existence.

Oh, and this mod: fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/12132

I think that covers it. The trick is making sure grass is everywhere and enabling point lighting for it in the .ini, that way you can sort of create the illusion of shadow play on the ground. I have AO enabled through NVIDIA drivers."

I was hunting around for Fallout 3 graphics mods not long ago, but the game got so bogged down and the installation and compatibility issues were a nightmare. This looks great though, will definitely try it out.
