The Shining DMCA Force

Well, well. There's life in the old dog yet. After a chat with a friend of mine, one of our former colleagues here at Pixel Judge actually, Blankdoor. It was brought to my attention that SEGA have recently filed a stupendous number of DMCA claims against YouTube users, he being one of them, uploading Shining Force related videos. He was doing a Let's Place of the first game and was amongst the users affected. As was Total Biscuit, who is a significantly more exposed YouTube celebrity.

After a little digging I found this forum post which seems to have all the details. Now, a PSP game may be outside of our usual remit, what with it not being a PC and all. But still. The DMCA claims have a wider impact, as most people playing and uploading Shining Force related videos now do so after making recordings via the big E. But more than that, SEGA are no longer a solely, or even primarily, console focused company anymore. It wasn't all that long ago we saw a slew of Dreamcast games making their way on to Steam after all. So, perhaps, could we be seeing a new, full Shining Force game for our beloved platform? And if not, mayhap we can talk them into it.
