The Late Crew

Following on from the disappointing, but extremely sensible, delay of Watch Dogs yesterday, it has also been revealed that Ubisoft will be delaying The Crew. The drop in, drop out MMOesque driving simulator announced at this year's E3. Another logical decision. Despite the obvious quality of the game, it hasn't really been catching on with people all that much, so trying to slot into a late Winter/early Spring window, when most people will have no money from the glut of games at the end of the previous year...
"We are convinced that, longer term, they will prove to be the right decisions both in terms of satisfaction for our fans and in terms of value creation for our shareholders. We are building franchises that will become perennial pillars of Ubisoft's financial performance. In a context of growing successes for mega-blockbusters, the additional time given to the development of our titles will allow them to fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer players even more exceptional experiences."
Yeah, not the best time to go breaking in a new, somewhat niche, title no matter how good it is. Pushing back to the second quarter, as they are now planning, in the July to October window, is a much more sensible timeframe. It also ensures that early adopters will have time available to actually play the game as well. Summer break and all that. Honestly, I'm not a fan of driving games, I have somewhere between no interest and "dafuq is this shit?" But The Crew has me thoroughly intrigued, so come Q2 2014, I will be seeing you there.

I think it's more Forza and Gran Turismo they're steering (hehe) away from in this case

Not surprising at all, given the fact that they probably want to steer clear from GTA V and possibly an upcoming port to the PC, although would that sway their decision to delay further?
