The King's Quest Faltering

"While we deeply love King's Quest here at Telltale, we can confirm that we are no longer working on the franchise. There was a time last year that we investigated partnering with third party developers to produce the game as a partnership but decided against outsourcing. We are not privy to what plans Activision has for the franchise, if any."

Just can't seem to cut a break can it? A couple of months ago Telltale seemed confident the rights were solely in their hands, even going so far as to say they would give specific details about the future of the franchise. But now Activision have them, and whilst they have been said to have 'plans' for the series, according to Paul Trowe of Replay, what, if anything, those plans are remains to be seen. It's not the first time Activision have snapped up the rights to a Sierra Intellectual Property and just...held onto it, so I won't be holding my breath and it would seem Replay have similar concerns. Replay have been trying to attain the rights from both Activision and Telltale for some time now for more remakes like Leisure Suit Larry. But for now, Activision have them and...well, they have them. Only time will tell where all this ends up. But what do you think? Comments below good Sir Knight.
