Once upon a time, there was a game called Age of Empires which spawned some expansions then a sequel called Age of Empires 2 which spawned one official expansion and a few notable unofficial ones. Recently an HD version of the 2nd game made its way to Steam thanks to the hands of Hidden Path and Microsoft. Now there was one notable expansion that existed for the original Age of Empires 2, called The Forgotten Expansion, which added in 5 brand new civilisations, a reworking of the AI, and some new maps for skirmish and versus.

Well today Microsoft have just announced it officially during an official live stream on twitch which will be coming so Steam this fall with these new civilisations, along with 4 new campaigns involving them, and a lot more on offer including new never before seen missions. Though the fact this comes the same day as the announcement that Xbox.com PC marketplace will close down next week is extremely weird.
