The Force Is Not With LucasArts

After acquiring LucasArts/Film from George Lucas, there's more news coming out of Disney than just the mythical third Star Wars trilogy Gerogie Boy said never existed...apart from in those interviews on the Special Edition VHS tapes back in the mid-nineties, but I digress. Disney have closed LucasArts. That's really all there is to say on the matter. It should hardly come as a surprise. Nothing of any notable quality has come out of there for quite some time, and Disney, y'know, have their own game studios so why have another? My condolences to those who lost their jobs from the decision, but honestly, I think they'll find better success in other studios anyway.
"After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles."
