The Division: Ubisoft Talks Multiplayer & PvP
During E3 earlier this year we covered Ubisoft's warmly received game, The Division. The game is a Tom Clancy branded, open world, multiplayer experience and takes place in New York after a viral outbreak brings civilisation as we know it to the edge of disaster. The footage we saw that week flaunted the games multiplayer and teased its PvP. This week Ubisoft has released further details in regards to both.
Via Ubisoft's Blog the company's senior community developer, Antoine Emond, said, "Player vs. Player combat will play a very big role in our game. The choices you make as a Division agent can either spur a recovery or plunge the city further into chaos. The people you meet in certain areas of the game can either be your best friends or your worst enemies. So you'll constantly be making decisions that will impact the world around you."
Edmond continued, "Exploration, objectives and player progression are all essential. You can team up with a group of friends in co-op and jump in and jump out at any time. In certain areas, you can also seamlessly engage in PvP and experience suspenseful scenarios where danger can come from anywhere and anyone."
Gamers also posted comments on the Ubisoft blog asking about clan support in the game. Edmond answered, "Right now we have no plans to cap the number of players who can be affiliated to any particular clan. We are also looking to have a very extensive web-based clan support system for all players in The Division. But we should have more to come around all this soon."
Whilst no release date has been confirmed as of yet, the game will definitely be coming to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. However many feel that the game would also be at home on the PC and have set up petitions so that gamers can show their support for this idea. There's been no official word from Ubisoft about whether the game definitely will or will not be coming to PC however they have said "We are not ruling out other platforms - because we do also read the internet". Watch this space for more on that and further gameplay details for The Division.
