Team Fortress 2's MvM Gets an Update

Team Fortress 2's recently added Mann Vs. Machine mode has recieved a substantial update. Among the fixes and additions: advanced game searching and new map variants!

In the first major update to the fantastic coop/machine bashing mode, Valve stated that player feedback told them things were either: too easy, too hard or just right. So setting out to tackle this problem there are now two more tours of duty in addition to the first already available. The new "Operation Oil Spill" is said to be easier than the existing "Operation Steel Trap", whereas the new "Operation Gear Grinder" is even harder. So now everyone is catered for!

Let's be honest though, the real interest here is the new special loot. Operation Steel Trap gave you a silver botkiller weapon or, if you were extremely lucky, a gold botkiller weapon, upon completion of the tour. Now you can get "rusty, blood-covered 'bot heads for the intermediate-level Operation Oil Spill, and some 24-carat diamond 'bot heads for the expert-level Operation Gear Grinder".

"You can now select multiple missions you'd like to play, to maximize the chances of finding compatible players as quickly as possible. We’ve also added some handy buttons that'll let you select all missions of a particular difficulty level, or all missions not yet marked off on a Tour of Duty."

There are also those matchmaking and game finding improvements which are very welcome indeed. Finding a game before took a little bit too long for my liking. Improvements! You know what to do Mercenaries, get robot killing!
