Taking the Fight to Them, Guerilla Style

One of the things making ArmA 3 such a solid game, is the possibilities for different styles of play. Any real-world military strategy can be applied to the multiplayer scenarios in the game to great effect.

One area of warfare that has gotten very hot over the past few decades, is guerilla warfare. It seems traditional wars are all but gone, replaced by a slew of wars that play out like "one mighty army vs. tiny guerilla rebels". This type of warfare is represented in ArmA 3's massive sandbox as well, and the ArmA 3 community members at Shack Tactical seem to be aware of just how complex it can be for players without real-world military experience. So, they've concocted a tutorial video of sorts, explaining the ins and outs of guerilla warfare. What to do, what not to do and so on.

In short, the guerilla force operates in small groups, often picking battles they know they can win (i.e. inflicting wounds on the enemy army and getting out fast without any casualties of their own), sabotaging and laying traps, stealing enemy equipment or permanently disabling it and so forth. It's quite an exhilarating experience once a plan starts falling into place, but what they don't tell you is that there is a lot of waiting and a lot of walking for guerillas. Like, A LOT. But that's beside the point.

Watch the whole video if you want to know more about how to be an expert guerilla fighter in ArmA 3. And even if you're not that big on ArmA yourself, you should at least be able to appreciate the pretty awesome scenery in the video.
