Not to be confused with Family Sharing, Steam's Family options are more along the lines of parental control over your steam account so that Little Timmy doesn't find himself neck deep in the drug addled life of Max Payne when he should have just been playing Plants vs Zombies.

Family Options lets you restrict access to games so that they can't be launched, block purchases in the Steam store, and keep your children away from those Team Fortress 2 weirdos asking for unusuals by blocking the Steam Community. It can also block user made content in the workshops like those creepy Skyrim mods that obsess over female cheekbones or eye roundness or something.
