It's that time again. Time to check how much Steam has a hold on the PC market. Last Week, Steam hit the 6.6 million concurrent user mark, up from 5 million this time last year, and reaching 6 million in November. While impressive, what's more impressive is that this means Steam is growing 300% faster.

So where are all these players coming from? While there are many games contributing to the growth of Steam, one of the biggest reasons is the growth of DotA 2. Currently Dota 2 is peaking at 237,414 players, blowing past the leader, Team Fortress 2, with 45,000 - 75,000 players.

These stats are a great sign of the current health of PC gaming, and another nail in the "PC gaming is dead" coffin.
