Pre-ordering games is not a good idea these days as the shortage of digital goods can only be completely artificial. Actual hardware is another story. PC Gamer reports a press release from Valve, mentioning that 35% of hardware ready for October release has already been pre-ordered during 5 days it has been available. Unfortunately, Valve has not disclosed the actual amounts, so their devices may either be extremely popular or the stock may be small. Either way, if you are willing to risk to get Steam Controller or Link sooner, you should act fast.
