Steam Coming to the Living Room?

The Steam store there has a new, mysterious link called living room. When you click on it you are taken to a vague website, which shows an image of a black sun with blue prominence and a headline that says "The Steam Universe is Expanding in 2014". There is also a countdown clock to some major announcement from Steam themselves.
It looks like Valve/Steam is going to announce their entry into the console market, by bringing great PC games to the living via The Steam Box. This is going to be a big task to go up against the big two manufactures, Sony and Microsoft, but steam got some things that they can offer which the consoles can't. One of the advantages of PC games, of course, is that they can have custom mods to enhance gameplay, which console gaming cannot really match.
In my opinion, Valve and Steam must have been planning this for a while as last year, Big Picture was launched for TV's and Tablets. Whether they will be able to get traction in the market, as not only are they up against Sony and Microsoft but also Nintendo and newcomers like Ouya. Steam have the financial means to enter the war, but will they be able to sell a product which is just a PC in a pretty box? As nearly all PC gamers have Steam already. Let us know below what you think.

Yes, yes they do. I mean, it MUST be half-Life 3. Three announcements? How can it NOT be?!
