If anyone has been paying attention to what Valve has cooked up next for the Steam Community update, it will be those shiny new badges and cards that can be dropped and collected for doing certain things and for playing games on Steam. It's been in beta for a while now, but will finally exit the beta and become official on Wednesday the 26th this week.
