Star Lords Is Now Called Lords of the Black Sun

Hey, it‘s no Emperor of the Fading Suns (that one‘s already taken), but as far as name changes go, Lords of the Black Sun is a pretty good choice. Apparently, the developers found out that Star Lords veers too close to an already established comic franchise. My guess would be Marvel jumping the gun over Star Lord the character, unless it‘s some obscure Spanish title like Metabarons. Anyways, the game is now called Lords of the Black Sun and we‘re all better for it, I guess.

Along the name change, we have a new trailer, which shows off the major areas of the game. First and foremost, the visuals betray the fact that it‘s a mid-tier space game, as they almost always look the same. We can also see diplomacy (not as expansive as we would be led to believe) and combat (underwhelming). On the other hand, the game offers special events that look interesting and fun, as well as social policies that range from allowing slavery to outlawing foreign scientists or so. Speeches are also involved somewhere, as well as an espionage system.

So far, the game looks like a mixed bag and only future will tell what we get. And if you can‘t wait for that, well, it is on Steam Early Access.

Fun fact: There have been at least major ice ages in Earth's history: The Huronian, the Cryogenian, the Andean - Saharan, the Karoo, and the Quaternary. So that would make it the 6th major ice age.

If it's a black sun...wouldn't that mean since there's no direct sunlight anymore it's a 2nd ice age?
