Square Enix Montreal Making Next Hitman
It seems that a new hitman game is already in the works and is being developed at Square Enix Montreal instead of the remaining in-house team. Absolution’s director Tore Blystad stated with OPM that the development will be similar to Call of Duty, with Square Enix and IO alternating between games.
“We’ve been talking about these similarities to some of the big movie franchise like Aliens, where everyone’s doing it their own way. Every time someone gets their hands on a franchise they do something different. So rather than doing the same thing again you get another take on the character from a fresh perspective.”
So it would seem Hitman is going to be a yearly franchise. Though, according to Blystad, it seems that while based in the same series, the games from the different companies will be different takes on the series.

What, the, ****************** I am really really really pissed off about this, way to turn my all time favourite franchise into a cash cow Call of Duty piece of trash game. Well, all future Hitman's will suck now lol. Though to give the benefit of the doubt, I seriously hope they do not make it a yearly thing and come to their senses. If they give each company 3 to 4 years to develop the Hitman games then they could all still be good, but as a yearly thing it will just suck (just like the CoD franchise). Black Ops II is fun, but really little has changed from CoD 4 to MW3/Black Ops II, it is just because it is CoD that they can get away with it and the gameplay remains fun and addictive despite so little changes.

Another yearly franchise that just released its newest game to show that the franchise has started going in a completely WRONG direction, no less.
