Space Survivaleers

By Bobfish21-03-2014

We're back with another tutorial for Space Engineers, this time going into all the nitty gritty of how to survive in the (appropriately enough) Survival mode. As I'm sure you can guess, it's no easy task. Even falling (in space?) can kill you. In fact, it looks like everything is trying to kill you. Even your own mind...that may be a slight exaggeration, but I think you get the picture. The point is, it's a lot easier to die, and the penalties for dying are...not insignificant. Such as losing all items in your inventory.

On the other hand, staying alive isn't really all that difficult. It takes a lot of awareness of your surroundings of course, Space Engineers is certainly not a game that holds your hand. But simple common sense, such as not sticking your face into an exhaust port as a ship goes cruising by, and you'll be fine. The tutorial is a fairly lengthy video, and doesn't even cover all of the details. It assumes you've already looked over the Alpha tutorial, which I will also include below for your viewing pleasure. But it is very in depth. To the point that even an amateur, like myself, will feel confident they have a good grasp of what the world...universe requires of you.

Basically lots of mining and salvaging.
