Source Exploit Poses Serious Risk to Gamers

Yesterday, an exploit was uncovered that exploited and hijacked the security of the file sharing service which would allow any file, no matter what the extension was, to be allowed the permissions of being sent to the server or any connected client. This exploit has been acknowledged and fixed by Mr Garry Newman, the guy behind Garry’s Mod. He even mentioned in his post that all other source games are unlikely to have been patched yet and the exploit could very well put a lot of gamers at risk at this very moment.
What I mean by this is, if you’re someone who regularly plays CSGO or DOTA 2, you’re probably better off playing something else this weekend to be on the safe side. You wouldn’t want to end up finding a key logger or any other type of malware on your computer by Monday morning! As for anyone who plays Garry’s Mod, you may want to follow some other advice to complete eliminate the threat of getting infected.
Remember folks, the internet is a dangerous place, stay safe and you can bet this’ll be fixed by next week!
