Soup Up Morrowind with Overhaul 3.0
Every felt like Morrowind was looking a bit old? As the years went by it put on a bit of weight, started getting wrinkles and couldn't impress everyone like it could when it was younger. Actually that's a lie, Morrowind is bloody awesome regardless of age, but now you can make it even more awesome with Overhaul 3.0.
Seriously though, Morrowind came out ten years ago and the modding community is still going as strong now as it was then. House mods, new factions, new weapons, armours, random quests, graphical fixes and more. If you can think of it, some talented modder has probably already made it for Morrowind. The game and its community are a true testament to the brilliance of modding and PC gaming in general.
One of the more impressive mods to come out was... not technically a mod at all. Morrowind Overhaul combined dozens of graphical and enhancement mods, all with the original author permission, and put them into a compatible package for your convenience, turning Morrowind into a game of 2012, not 2002. But don't think this was an attention grab, the scale of putting that many mods which were never designed to work in tandem, together into a package, is astronomical. Plus there was the tricky business of creating an installer so would be users wouldn't have to spend a few months just installing the own thing, hence turning a complicated process into a breeze.
Now, Overhaul 3.0 is here. Since version 2.0 there has been a lot of worthy additions:
• An awesome (super, ultra, extra) auto-installer almost fully automated,
• An incredibly useful Options program that can auto-change everything for you at any moment (like changing options to improve the performance, changing options to suit your tastes, etc),
• A LOT of bug fixes (all the known problems are now fixed),
• New options to choose from and new mods are now included,
• A LOT of mods have been updated,
• Improvements on the performance of the game,
• Cleaner package resulting in less space used,
• More detailed documentation explaining how to tweak the package and improve performances.
It's safe to say that this is the definitive version of Morrowind Overhaul. I mean, just look at the trailer for it then compare that with what vanilla Morrowind looks like! It's beautiful. There is also an installation guide video to help you along the way to modding greatness.
