Silicon Knights, developer studio responsible for games such as Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, has closed up shop under strange circumstances - with their assets being bought and implemented into the spiritual successor of Eternal Darkness, Shadow of the Eternals, currently being developed by Precursor Games.

Ever since they lost the multi-million dollar lawsuit against Epic Games last year, little has been heard from the studio, and now it seems there shall no longer be any offering coming from the group. Although the individuals are continuing to contribute to the industry, with former head of Silicon Knights confirming in an interview with Polygon that he had left SK for the position of chief creative officer at Precursor Games.

Many questions have been left unanswered in the wake of the closing of Silicon Knights, most pressing the question of the money that apparently it got from the Ontario government. However, let us all give a moment of thoughtful silence in respect for the good games that have come out from them in their time of service.
