Shadowrun Online is the other Shadowrun game that we're being treated with in short order. Much like Shadowrun Returns, it was financed via Kickstarter. And now, after years (two) in development, it's ready to see the light. Sort of. It's definitely going to appear on Steam Early Access on March 31st.

Unlike other Early Access titles, where you pay for the privilege to experience the gripping stories and epic campaigns in all their unfinished, buggy glory, the early access campaign will serve as a prequel for the first campaign - Lockdown. Not all of the stuff is there (no hacking nor character progression, for one), but this means that you won't have to suffer the indignity of playing the first campaign again, when the game is finished.

To be more specific, the first build will contain a PvP map, two characters, four missions and basic skills. The devs are very interested in collecting the feedback on core mechanics and combat before delving into the more fun stuff.

The game will launch on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, as well as those damned mobile devices, so you could ignore the pesky meatspace anywhere you go!
