Coming as part of the Games '15 event hosted this week in Dubai, the latest new addition to the Street Fighter V roster, and also the first Middle Eastern character to join the Street Fighter roster in general, Rashid. Though series producer Yoshinori Ono has been teasing him for quite a while, he was revealed and playable at this event hosted in the United Arab Emirates, alongside the news that the game would be localized into Arabic.

With his moves combining the use of parkour and his power to control the wind, it looks as though Rashid will be suited to setting up chains and locking his opponents in place. He also, apparently, is quite tech-savvy, and uses his knowledge and gadgetry to research and plan his moves, always leaving his opponents guessing.

According to an interview that Ono did with IGN Middle East, there were some challenges that came with developing Rashid. As there are few Middle Eastern employees on Capcom's staff, they worked closely with Sony and Pluto Games, the distributor for the Middle East region to ensure that the character made sense, visually and ability-wise. Street Fighter V is set to release in 2016 on the PS4 and on PC.
