Rome 2 Now With 100% More Fireballs

The battle for Teutoburg Forest was certainly one for the books. Three entire Roman legions brutally destroyed, by an alliance of Germanic tribes that cleverly used the terrain to their advantage when ambushing the marching troops meant to reinforce the Roman outposts in occupied Germania. With about 20.000 (out of 30.000) Romans dead, the battle was so devastating that the Romans never again attempted to occupy areas east of the Rhine after that. It was obvious now, that despite the numbers, heavy armaments and advanced technology, the Roman military machine was far from indestructible. All you needed was a few savage northern Europeans, some pointy sticks, and enormous balls of fire.

But why am I telling you this? You don't care about historical facts. You want to see people get crushed by huge fireballs! You want to see Romans bleed! Well this newly released trailer for Rome II - which seems to be highly inspired by the 2010 action movie Centurion - may not have a sexy leather-clad Olga Kurylenko with blue warpaint on her face, but it sure has plenty of those fireballs.

So does this raise your expectations for the upcoming game even further? Or is the awesome-meter already at max?

It was in the first Rome: TW too, but it was more about the germanic troops having A LOT more troops than the Romans, and less about the actual terrain. Rome 2 seems to be more historically correct in this regard.
