Tripwire Interactive, the developers of the Red Orchestra series, have just announced a mapmaking contest for their latest game – standalone expansion Rising Storm. To make the competition more appealing, there are prizes collectively worth $25000, with the grand prize of $10000 in cash. The contest is underway now and there will be an initial checkpoint on September 3rd, where competitors will receive feedback about the maps from judges. It is very nice to see developers that create mod tools and encourage their community to use them and improve the game. The more active fans can add things they want to the game, while the rest of the community will enjoy the increased variety.
