Rising in PC Horizon

Avatar
By NeonAnderson21-08-2012

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set to launch in February 2013 across all regions on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Konami Productions had originally stated that it was planned for as a PC port as well since the start of development. This PC port was then cancelled when the development team changed from Kojima Productions to Platinum Games.

Eurogamer has recently interviewed Kojima Productions Creative Producer, Yuji Korekado, to inquire about the status of the PC port.

Korekado explained that the development focus right now is on completing the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions on time. After those are done, they ‘might’ consider developing a PC port. Korekado was able to say with 100 percent certainty that the PC port, if it were to be made, would definitely not be ready in time for the February 2013 launch dates of the console versions.

Many of us at Pixel Judge, just as the many PC gamers out there, look forward to the possibility of a PC port of MGR:R!

I've only enjoyed two of the Metal Gear games, and one of them was a PSP title. I find the entire series to be laborious and painfully pretentious. it takes itself waaaaaaaaay too seriously.

But...mods

I have MGS4 on PS3, though I must admit I've not enjoyed many shooters yet on PS3 (they just don't play so naturally with controllers, not being elitist or anything, but mouse is just so much better for aiming. Moving is nice with a joystick as you have more control than with Keyboard, but the aiming is a real pain - there's a reason consoles have aim assist and PC games usually do not :P). But yeah, getting back to my point I didn't enjoy MGS 4 so much on PS3. It just seemed too... too egotistical... if that makes any sense? You know when you have a conversation with someone and he just keeps going on about how amazing he/she is? As if he/she is the most amazing person in the world and can't get enough of himself/herself. Well that is how MGS 4 felt to me and that is what mostly ruined it for me too.

If only. That is one amazing game in every respect.

Interesting. Does this mean we might get Metal Gear 4 too?

Yeah, I'm not particularly looking forward to this either and I'm a huge MGS fan too. But I'm also a fan of Raiden - I think he's as great a character as any number of others in the series - yet I just don't feel that what's been showed of this so far is the right move for the series, especially if it's still to continue in some way after this.

Being a bit of a Japan/Samurai buff myself. I really am excited about the sword and sword gameplay :)

I'm very undecided about this title. I love the MGS series, but there's just something about this one that hasn't clicked with me yet. I don't know if it's the gameplay style they're going for or maybe Raiden himself (not a huge fan of him). Hopefully more footage/a demo would help!
