Revelations - A "Signpost" For Series Future

In an interview with Eurogamer, producer Masachika Kawata from Capcom has stated the company intends to judge its course of subsequent action from the input regarding Resident Evil's port to home consoles and the PC in May 21. According to him, he sees it as a proper methodology as to determine the future of Resident Evil games, as well as utilizing the input from the fanbase as a "signpost for where (they) need to be going next". Interestingly, he has stated that he envisions Capcom focusing on "the horror aspect and fear in the series", something that has been to, this point, largely ignored in favour for action.

This was said in the face of his recent announcement that Capcom has concluded that it may have been putting out "a few too many" Resident Evil games in the last few years, saturating the market and causing detriment to the success of their games. He stated that Capcom realizes "putting out a lot of titles would not necessarily win over gamers". The solution he made was to "look at how do (they) make these games better" rather than to "stagger them out artificially".

Kawata also stated that although Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS was "definitely a success", the publisher would have liked to see more sales. Would you then assist him in making this desire come true? Will you get Resident Evil: Revelations when it launches on the PC in the coming months?

Resident evil 6 sold more than 4.5 million units on it's first month, but then the sales numbers dropped drastically, since most people actually read some reviews before buying the game. Considering the push that capcom made towards it, it was a critical and commercial failure.
