Resident Evil zombies were never the smartest bunch, but boy, they're just about ignorable in Umbrella Corps. Instead of facing the hordes of the dead in this Resident Evil, you'll be facing off against other people vying for control of the area.

So far there's not much word on multiplayer modes, but the gameplay trailer shows off a team death match that looks very Gears of War-ish with its 3rd person camera, cover system, and trajectory lines for special items. You don't have much health and melee attacks are one hit kills, so it's a dangerous, fast paced world out there, but there are plenty of team mechanics to protect you assuming you're the kind of player who actually takes advantage of a team.

Umbrella Corps is very clearly still in beta mode, but gameplay, the guns, explosions, maps, and character models all look polished with those Capcom big bucks. This is very much so Resident Evil's first adventure into the multiplayer shooter arena, but it's looking good so far if not a bit cluttered with dead. All and all, you could say that Umbrella Corps is far from dead in the water and even has the potential to make a killing upon its release.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps is planned for release on PS4 and Windows sometime in early 2016.
