Ranger Survival Guide Chapter 2
Following on from the first chapter, the second promises an increased enemy variety, and then clearly delivers. Though it tells little of the specifics of the mutants (calling it right now, they'll get a video all of their own not too far down the line) it does give it brief, but detailed, overview of the various Human factions. Also giving suggestions about how to deal with said enemies, such as blowing out oil lamps and shooting out bulbs. Features that were in the first game. Then offering further suggestions new to the franchise, such as shooting out the torches of enemies and sabotaging fuse boxes.
With a voiceover that speaks to you as a new recruit, commenting on everything as though for a real briefing, Deep Silver are clearly aiming to create an experience with as much immersion value as possible. Only time (and final release) will tell for certain, but with May 17th rapidly approaching, everything we're seeing strongly suggests they will not only achieve their goal, but wildly exceed it. Check out the video, there's a lot more there besides what I've already covered, but a true Ranger learns for himself. If you want me to hold your hand you are not cut out to be a Spartan. No disagreement here. Much as I love the game, it has its flaws

I personally don't criticize Metro 2033 for the poor AI. It never bothered me that much. It's a linear FPS, it's not squad based and if you get spotted, you don't fail automatically or your teammates die or something. So it's not an issue for me.
... But the Ai *WAS* indeed terrible.

The stupidity could be fun at times though, you have to at least give them that

"They're not as stupid as they look"
In Metro 2033, they were way more stupid than they looked. Let's hope this is more than just PR bullshit, and has some truth to it instead.
