QuakeCon, Planet Earth's largest free bring-your-own-computer LAN party has been moved forward this year from its usual mid-August slot, to Thursday the 17th of July. No reasons have been given, but timetables have been moved forward with the Hilton Anatole in Dallas already starting to take bookings. Any casual gamers who can't stay awake for the four-day game-a-thon can stay at the Hilton who are providing discounted rates if you tell them why you're there.

There's usually much more than just the LAN party at QuakeCon, including game presentations, contests, entertainment, announcements (hopefully something awesome), discussions, and parties.
