Off-spin spam seems to be the thing nowadays, as another IP enters the three-games-in-simultaneous-development club. But do not worry, we are not about to announce a Dead Island board game here. Instead, let us have a look at ESCAPE Dead Island, the "third-person single-player survival mystery spin-off" of the series (boy, that is one unique genre, is it not?).
While the mentioned definition may seem a little overwhelming, ESCAPE seems to have all the core elements we loved and hated in the previous DI games, although served in a little different way. This said, you can expect to whack zombies and unravel mysteries, but the third selling point of the series, the beautiful, exotic sceneries of the Banoi archipelago, underwent a major transformation, ending up a little Borderland'ish with all the cel shading and arcade-style pop-ups. we would rather avoid judging the style basing only on the short trailer above, so let's just say that it is bound to cause some controversy.
It is hard to say much more about the new Dead Island. The protagonist, Cliff Clao, arrives to the Narapela island to unravel the mystery of the zombie plague, and his search is stated to lead to the events of Dead Island 2, making ESCAPE a direct prequel. As for technical stuff, the game will be releasing 18th November in America and 21st worldwide, for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The developer is, similarly to Dead Island 2, not the Polish Techland, but Swedish Fatshark, creators of Bionic Commando 2 and War of the Roses.
How do you feel about the idea of ESCAPE? Do you have any fears or hopes associated with it? Tell us in the comments section below!

Not sure what to think about this game.
Could be a nice little "snack" to shorten the wait for the big dead island.
Or it could be total garbage.
