Obsidian, creators of much-acclaimed RPGs Fallout: New Vegas, Neverwinter Nights 2, and most importantly, Knights of the Old Republic 2, are currently pitching yet another Star Wars RPG - as reported by those over at RPS. According to Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian, it would be set within a different era of Star Wars than had been previously focused on - they "pitched a between-Episode III and Episode IV game to [Lucasarts]", finding the "timeframe super interesting". Possible themes surrounding the rumoured games are "the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi, Obiwan going off and making sure Luke is OK". Although the personally the prospect of playing as Obi-Wan standing guard in Tattoine and slowly growing old is not exactly an exciting one, the myriad stories that occur in that time period all deserve to be taken a look at. The fact that almost no media other than comics and books have touched on that timeframe has always been a huge loss, and who better to work on a Star Wars RPG set in that time frame than those who gave us what is claimed to be one of the best RPG games ever made?
