Pawning Off Dragons and Orcs
Dragon's Dogma Online is shaping up to be a great game. Yet, for some reason, very few peoples re paying any attention to it. So allow us to redress that balance by bringing not one, or even two, but three videos for your viewing pleasure. These include the game's opening, an introduction to Pawns and some (PlayStation 4) gameplay of an Orc Battle.
The first (above) is a little unclear, because my Japanese is, well, amateur level at best. But so far as I can tell, it's setting a story about how technology was used to defeat a great dragon, who then imparted some of his power to various people throughout the land. Those, presumably, who will become we, the player characters. It's a pretty darn cool video all the same.
The other two are much easier to understand. Giving us an overview of how Pawns (self made NPCs) will function in combat, and how you will make them. Including a literal skill tree which, again presumably, you will be able to invest more points in as you level up. At least I hope so, I'd rather not have to keep making entirely new pawns every time I want a stronger one.
Whilst the last video is PlayStation 4 'footage' showing a rather large cra...I mean, Orc Battle. Which is frenetic to say the least. Though it is clearly more of the pre-rendered 'in engine' side of the spectrum, it does give a good impression of how large scale combat will play out. As several moments are almost certainly in game animations rendered in higher detail. Like the rolling and some of the blocking animations.
All in all, why are more people not hyped about this game dudes?
