Patch 1.25 Adds Features, Defrustratifies Trading
According to the general consensus, X Rebirth is not what you would call a very good game. Though it can at times look stunning, and surely has some ambitious mechanics hidden somewhere in there, the game itself suffers from so many fundamentally bad design choices, that it becomes almost unplayable.
One would think that it's easy for a developer to just give up on their game after such a bad launch, Egosoft are not the kind to throw in the towel so easily. There have already been numerous patches to the game, fixing and tweaking various parts that players were frustrated with. The new 1.25 patch that should be out already, seeks to improve on some of the major problems - specifically with trading - by adding in a few new features and improving or replacing the ones already in place. The video embedded above goes through some of the biggest changes, but those wanting to know more specifically can head over to the forum for the full changelog.
In connection with the update, Egosoft have also written a forum post today, listing their pans for the near future. This includes Steam Workshop integration, improved joystick support, improved interaction with NPCs from space to minimize forced landing, and an experimental 64bit executable that could potentially fix some issues. Head over to the forum to read the full list of plans for yourself.
